Related Product Information for SP-R elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Rat Substance P Receptor (also known as SP-R) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat SP-R antibody. SP-R present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat SP-R Antibody is added and binds to SP-R in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated SP-R antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat SP-R. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to a gene family of tachykinin receptors. These tachykinin receptors are characterized by interactions with G proteins and contain seven hydrophobic transmembrane regions. This gene encodes the receptor for the tachykinin substance P, also referred to as neurokinin 1. The encoded protein is also involved in the mediation of phosphatidylinositol metabolism of substance P. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

This is a receptor for the tachykinin neuropeptide substance P. It is probably associated with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of affinity of this receptor to tachykinins is: substance P > substance K > neuromedin-K.

Product Notes

The Rat SP-R tacr1 (Catalog #AAA161862) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA161862 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat SP-R. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "substance P receptor, SP-R, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
