Rat oxidized low density lipoprotein, OxLDL ELISA Kit | OxLDL elisa kit
Rat oxidized low density lipoprotein, OxLDL ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat OXLDL antibody. OXLDL present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat OXLDL Antibody is added and binds to OXLDL in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated OXLDL antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat OXLDL. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
receptor for oxidized low-density lipoprotein that may be involved in pathogenesis of hypertension as well as atherosclerosis [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
Function: Receptor that mediates the recognition, internalization and degradation of oxidatively modified low density lipoprotein (oxLDL) by vascular endothelial cells. OxLDL is a marker of atherosclerosis that induces vascular endothelial cell activation and dysfunction, resulting in pro-inflammatory responses, pro-oxidative conditions and apoptosis. Its association with oxLDL induces the activation of NF-kappa-B through an increased production of intracellular reactive oxygen and a variety of pro-atherogenic cellular responses including a reduction of nitric oxide (NO) release, monocyte adhesion and apoptosis. In addition to binding oxLDL, it acts as a receptor for the HSP70 protein involved in antigen cross-presentation to naive T-cells in dendritic cells, thereby participating in cell-mediated antigen cross-presentation. Also involved in inflammatory process, by acting as a leukocyte-adhesion molecule at the vascular interface in endotoxin-induced inflammation. Also acts as a receptor for advanced glycation end (AGE) products, activated platelets, monocytes, apoptotic cells and both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Ref.2 Ref.4
Subunit structure: Homodimer; disulfide-linked. May form a hexamer composed of 3 homodimers. Interacts with HSP70

Product Notes
The Rat OxLDL olr1 (Catalog #AAA1605169) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1605169 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat OxLDL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "oxidized low density lipoprotein, OxLDL, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
