NCBI Description

oncogene; may be involved in function or development of neural tissues [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

MAS1: Receptor for angiotensin 1-7. Acts specifically as a functional antagonist of AGTR1 (angiotensin-2 type 1 receptor), although it up-regulates AGTR1 receptor levels. Positive regulation of AGTR1 levels occurs through activation of the G-proteins GNA11 and GNAQ, and stimulation of the protein kinase C signaling cascade. The antagonist effect on AGTR1 function is probably due to AGTR1 being physically altered by MAS1. The MAS oncogene has a weak focus-inducing activity in transfected NIH 3T3 cells. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Oncoprotein

Cellular Component: cell surface; plasma membrane; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; peptide hormone binding; peptide binding; angiotensin receptor activity

Biological Process: response to drug; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; response to peptide hormone stimulus; negative regulation of protein amino acid phosphorylation; male gonad development; regulation of inflammatory response; positive regulation of cell proliferation; hippocampus development; activation of NF-kappaB-inducing kinase; spermatogenesis; response to activity; positive regulation of DNA replication

Product Notes

The Rat MAS1 mas1 (Catalog #AAA9340340) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9340340 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat MAS1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MAS1 oncogene, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
