Rat Malate dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (MDH2) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: MDH2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-MDH2 antibody and an MDH2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with MDH2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the MDH2 concentration since MDH2 from samples and MDH2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-MDH2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by MDH2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind MDH2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The MDH2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Malate dehydrogenase catalyzes the reversible oxidation of malate to oxaloacetate, utilizing the NAD/NADH cofactor system in the citric acid cycle. The protein encoded by this gene is localized to the mitochondria and may play pivotal roles in the malate-aspartate shuttle that operates in the metabolic coordination between cytosol and mitochondria. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

The Rat MDH2 mdh2 (Catalog #AAA7225692) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7225692 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat MDH2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Malate dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (MDH2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
