Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for KLK4 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Kallikrein 4 (KLK4). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Kallikrein 4 (KLK4). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Kallikrein 4 (KLK4), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Kallikrein 4 (KLK4) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases having diverse physiological functions. Growing evidence suggests that many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and some have potential as novel cancer and other disease biomarkers. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. In some tissues its expression is hormonally regulated. The expression pattern of a similar mouse protein in murine developing teeth supports a role for the protein in the degradation of enamel proteins. Several transcript variants encoding different proteins have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Uniprot Description

KLK4: Involved in enamel formation. Defects in KLK4 are the cause of amelogenesis imperfecta hypomaturation type 2A1 (AI2A1). AI2A1 is an autosomal recessive defect of enamel formation. The disorder involves both primary and secondary dentitions. The teeth have a shiny agar jelly appearance and the enamel is softer than normal. Brown pigment is present in middle layers of enamel. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Kallikrein subfamily.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; EC 3.4.21.-; Secreted; Protease

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.41

Cellular Component: extracellular region

Molecular Function: serine-type peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity; metal ion binding

Biological Process: extracellular matrix disassembly; protein catabolic process; proteolysis

Disease: Amelogenesis Imperfecta, Hypomaturation Type, Iia1

Product Notes

The Rat KLK4 klk4 (Catalog #AAA2024527) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2024527 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat KLK4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Kallikrein 4 (KLK4), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
