Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for FFAR1 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Free Fatty Acid Receptor 1 (FFAR1). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Free Fatty Acid Receptor 1 (FFAR1). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Free Fatty Acid Receptor 1 (FFAR1), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of Free Fatty Acid Receptor 1 (FFAR1) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the GP40 family of G protein-coupled receptors that are clustered together on chromosome 19. The encoded protein is a receptor for medium and long chain free fatty acids and may be involved in the metabolic regulation of insulin secretion. Polymorphisms in this gene may be associated with type 2 diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]

Uniprot Description

FFAR1: Receptor for medium and long chain saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. Binding of the ligand increase intracellular calcium concentration and amplify glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G- proteins that activate phospholipase C. Seems to act through a G(q) and G(i)-mediated pathway. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.12

Cellular Component: integral component of plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: bioactive lipid receptor activity; G-protein coupled receptor activity; guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; lipid binding

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor signaling pathway; glucose homeostasis; insulin secretion; positive regulation of calcium ion transport; positive regulation of GTPase activity; positive regulation of insulin secretion

Product Notes

The Rat FFAR1 ffar1 (Catalog #AAA2704836) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2704836 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat FFAR1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Free Fatty Acid Receptor 1 (FFAR1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
