Reactivity
Rat
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of Rat CX40. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Rat CX40 and analogues was observed. Note: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross- reactivity detection between Rat CX40 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist.

Related Product Information for CX40 elisa kit
Description: The kit is a sandwich enzyme immunoassay for in vitro quantitative measurement of CX40 in Rat serum, plasma and other biological fluids
Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat CX40. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and bound by the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat CX40 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat CX40, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat CX40. You can calculate the concentration of Rat CX40 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

Uniprot Description

GJA5: One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. Defects in GJA5 are a cause of familial atrial standstill (FAS). Atrial standstill is an extremely rare arrhythmia, characterized by the absence of electrical and mechanical activity in the atria. Electrocardiographically, it is characterized by bradycardia, the absence of P waves, and a junctional narrow complex escape rhythm. Defects in GJA5 are the cause of familial atrial fibrillation type 11 (ATFB11). ATFB11 is a familial form of atrial fibrillation, a common sustained cardiac rhythm disturbance. Atrial fibrillation is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activity and ineffective atrial contraction promoting blood stasis in the atria and reduces ventricular filling. It can result in palpitations, syncope, thromboembolic stroke, and congestive heart failure. Belongs to the connexin family. Alpha-type (group II) subfamily.

Product Notes

The Rat CX40 gja5 (Catalog #AAA2503745) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2503745 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CX40. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CX40, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
