Rat Contactin-associated protein-like 2 (CNTNAP2) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: CNTNAP2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CNTNAP2 antibody and an CNTNAP2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CNTNAP2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CNTNAP2 concentration since CNTNAP2 from samples and CNTNAP2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CNTNAP2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CNTNAP2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CNTNAP2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CNTNAP2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
CNTNAP2: May play a role in the formation of functional distinct domains critical for saltatory conduction of nerve impulses in myelinated nerve fibers. Seems to demarcate the juxtaparanodal region of the axo-glial junction. Associates with KCNA2. Predominantly expressed in nervous system. Belongs to the neurexin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Rat CNTNAP2 cntnap2 (Catalog #AAA7230045) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7230045 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CNTNAP2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Contactin-associated protein-like 2 (CNTNAP2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
