Introduction: Anti ovarian antibodies belong to a group of cells found throughout the bloodstream. These cells are called "antibodies" because they actually work against certain functions of the ovaries. Typically, antibodies are used by the body to fight against invading bacteria and cells. Sometimes, however, the body becomes confused and mistakes it own cells for invading ones. This is the case with anti ovarian antibodies. Anti ovarian antibodies are thought to interfere with ovulation and fertility. Anti ovarian antibodies are often found in small amounts throughout the general population. About 30% of normal, healthy women have the antibody. However, anti ovarian antibodies are found in very small amounts in these groups, and do not interfere with ovarian function. Anti ovarian antibodies are typically found in women with premature ovarian failure. Up to 70% of women with this condition have large amounts of anti ovarian antibodies in their bloodstream. Large numbers of women with unexplained infertility also have anti ovarian antibodies in their blood.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with specificity antigen. Samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells and incubated. Then add Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated anti-human IgG and incubated. Then substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of human anti-oocyte antibody in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is the tropomyosin-binding subunit of the troponin complex, which is located on the thin filament of striated muscles and regulates muscle contraction in response to alterations in intracellular calcium ion concentration. Mutations in this gene have been associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy as well as with dilated cardiomyopathy. Transcripts for this gene undergo alternative splicing that results in many tissue-specific isoforms, however, the full-length nature of some of these variants has not yet been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: Troponin T is the tropomyosin-binding subunit of troponin, the thin filament regulatory complex which confers calcium-sensitivity to striated muscle actomyosin ATPase activity.

Product Notes

The Rat cTn-T tnnt2 (Catalog #AAA705945) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA705945 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat cTn-T. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cardiac Troponin T (cTn-T), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
