Related Product Information for CGRP elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique for the in vitro quantitative measurement of CGRP in rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to CGRP has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled CGRP and unlabeled CGRP (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to CGRP. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of CGRP in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of CGRP in the sample.

NCBI Description

may play a role in regulating transduction of sensory and motor information [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

CGRP induces vasodilation. It dilates a variety of vessels including the coronary, cerebral and systemic vasculature. Its abundance in the CNS also points toward a neurotransmitter or neuromodulator role.

Product Notes

The Rat CGRP calcb (Catalog #AAA454057) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA454057 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat CGRP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
