Related Product Information for ANP elisa kit
Intended Uses: The kit is a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique for the in vitro quantitative measurement of AngII in rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to AngII has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled AngII and unlabeled AngII (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to AngII. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of AngII in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of AngII in the sample.

NCBI Description

peptide involved in the control of fluid volume and vascular function [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

NPPA: Hormone playing a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis through regulation of natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation. Also plays a role in female pregnancy by promoting trophoblast invasion and spiral artery remodeling in uterus. Specifically binds and stimulates the cGMP production of the NPR1 receptor. Binds the clearance receptor NPR3. Defects in NPPA are the cause of familial atrial fibrillation type 6 (ATFB6). Atrial fibrillation is a common disorder of cardiac rhythm that is hereditary in a small subgroup of patients. It is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activity, progressive deterioration of atrial electromechanical function and ineffective pumping of blood into the ventricles. It can be associated with palpitations, syncope, thromboembolic stroke, and congestive heart failure. Belongs to the natriuretic peptide family.

Protein type: Hormone; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Product Notes

The Rat ANP nppa (Catalog #AAA2087305) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2087305 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ANP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
