Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for ATP2A2 elisa kit
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to ATPase, Ca++ Transporting, Cardiac Muscle, Slow Twitch 2 (ATP2A2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to ATPase, Ca++ Transporting, Cardiac Muscle, Slow Twitch 2 (ATP2A2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain ATPase, Ca++ Transporting, Cardiac Muscle, Slow Twitch 2 (ATP2A2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm ± 10nm. The concentration of ATPase, Ca++ Transporting, Cardiac Muscle, Slow Twitch 2 (ATP2A2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of the SERCA Ca(2+)-ATPases, which are intracellular pumps located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticula of muscle cells. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol into the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is involved in regulation of the contraction/relaxation cycle. Mutations in this gene cause Darier-White disease, also known as keratosis follicularis, an autosomal dominant skin disorder characterized by loss of adhesion between epidermal cells and abnormal keratinization. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008]

Uniprot Description

SERCA2: an intracellular pump located in the sarcoplasmic or endoplasmic reticula of muscle cells. Possesses a Ca(2+)-ATPase activity. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the translocation of calcium from the cytosol to the sarcoplasmic reticulum lumen, and is involved in regulation of the contraction/relaxation cycle. Reversibly inhibited by phospholamban (PLN) at low calcium concentrations. Dephosphorylated PLN decreases the apparent affinity of the ATPase for calcium. This inhibition is regulated by the phosphorylation of PLN. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Rat ATP2A2 atp2a2 (Catalog #AAA2098091) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2098091 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ATP2A2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATPase, Ca++ Transporting, Cardiac Muscle, Slow Twitch 2 (ATP2A2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
