Related Product Information for APLNR elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Rat Apelin Receptor (also known as APLNR) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Rat APLNR antibody. APLNR present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Rat APLNR Antibody is added and binds to APLNR in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated APLNR antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Rat APLNR. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor gene family. The encoded protein is related to the angiotensin receptor, but is actually an apelin receptor that inhibits adenylate cyclase activity and plays a counter-regulatory role against the pressure action of angiotensin II by exerting hypertensive effect. It functions in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, in glucose metabolism, in embryonic and tumor angiogenesis and as a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) coreceptor. Two transcript variants resulting from alternative splicing have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]

Uniprot Description

Receptor for apelin receptor early endogenous ligand (APELA) and apelin (APLN) hormones coupled to G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity (PubMed:11090199, PubMed:25639753, PubMed:28137936). Plays a key role in early development such as gastrulation, blood vessels formation and heart morphogenesis by acting as a receptor for APELA hormone (). May promote angioblast migration toward the embryonic midline, i.e. the position of the future vessel formation, during vasculogenesis (). Promotes sinus venosus (SV)-derived endothelial cells migration into the developing heart to promote coronary blood vessel development (). Plays also a role in various processes in adults such as regulation of blood vessel formation, blood pressure, heart contractility and heart failure (PubMed:25639753, PubMed:28137936).

Product Notes

The Rat APLNR aplnr (Catalog #AAA1600068) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1600068 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat APLNR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apelin receptor, APLNR, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
