Related Product Information for GT-34 clia kit
Intended Uses: This CLIA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of GT-34 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit uses Sandwich-CLIA as the method. The micro CLIA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to GT-34. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro CLIA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for GT-34 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain GT-34, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear fluorescence. The Relative light unit (RLU) value is measured spectrophotometrically by the Chemiluminescence immunoassay analyzer. The RLU value is positively associated with the concentration of GT-34. You can calculate the concentration of GT-34 in the samples by comparing the RLU value of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a G-protein coupled receptor for gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP), which was originally identified as an activity in gut extracts that inhibited gastric acid secretion and gastrin release, but subsequently was demonstrated to stimulate insulin release in the presence of elevated glucose. Mice lacking this gene exhibit higher blood glucose levels with impaired initial insulin response after oral glucose load. Defect in this gene thus may contribute to the pathogenesis of diabetes. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

GIPR: This is a receptor for GIP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GPCR, family 2; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3

Cellular Component: plasma membrane; integral to membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: gastric inhibitory peptide receptor activity; transmembrane receptor activity; peptide hormone binding

Biological Process: desensitization of G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; elevation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration; generation of precursor metabolites and energy; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction; adenylate cyclase activation; response to glucose stimulus; positive regulation of insulin secretion; response to axon injury; response to calcium ion; endocrine pancreas development; response to nutrient

Product Notes

The Rat GT-34 gipr (Catalog #AAA2531689) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2531689 CLIA Kit recognizes Rat GT-34. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "GT-34 (Gastrin 34), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
