Reactivity
Mouse, Rat
Form/Format
Lyophilized. 100 ul with <0.09% sodium azide as a preservative.
Applicable Applications for anti-NTS antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
Application Notes
Immunohistochemistry:
- 1:200-1:400 (in PBS/0.3% Triton X-100 – Indirect Immunofluorescence).
- 1:4,000-1:8,000 (in in PBS/0.3% Triton X-100 – Bn/Av-HRP Technique).

Our Neurotensin antiserum was quality control tested using standard immunohistochemical methods. The antiserum demonstrates significant labeling of rat amygdala using indirect immunofluorescent and biotin/avidin-HRP techniques. Staining is completely eliminated by pretreatment with 10ug of Neurotensin per 1 mL of diluted antibody.

Tissue Preparation: 10 um cryostat
- Fixative: 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4; 500 mL over ~20-30 min.
- Post Fixation: 1.5 hr. at 4°C in 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4.
- Incubation: 18-24 hours at 2-8°C.

Dilutions listed as a recommendation. Optimal dilution should be determined by investigator.
Product Type
Whole Serum
Immunogen Sequence
Synthetic peptide (human) Neurotensin coupled to bovine thyroglobulin (BTg) with glutaraldehyde.
Reconstitution
Do not reconstitute until ready to use since the product is most stable when lyophilized. The product does not need to be cooled during shipping. For long-term storage, store lyophilized antibody until ready to use at -15°C or lower. Reconstitute with 100 uL of distilled or deionized water.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain at +2-8°C for 3 months or at -20°C for longer periods. Stable for 1 year. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Related Product Information for anti-NTS antibody
Neurotensin is a 13-amino acid neuropeptide involved in neurotransmission in the CNS and PNS. In the CNS, it interacts with dopamine. It also plays a tonic stimulatory role on HPA axis activity and an inhibitory effect on vasopressin secretion. Through its diverse expression, Neurotensin modulates analgesia, hypothermia, appetite, fear response, gut motility and locomotor activity.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a common precursor for two peptides, neuromedin N and neurotensin. Neurotensin is a secreted tridecapeptide, which is widely distributed throughout the central nervous system, and may function as a neurotransmitter or a neuromodulator. It may be involved in dopamine-associated pathophysiological events, in the maintenance of gut structure and function, and in the regulation of fat metabolism. Tissue-specific processing may lead to the formation in some tissues of larger forms of neuromedin N and neurotensin. The large forms may represent more stable peptides that are also biologically active. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NTS: Neurotensin may play an endocrine or paracrine role in the regulation of fat metabolism. It causes contraction of smooth muscle. Belongs to the neurotensin family.

Product Notes

The NTS nts (Catalog #AAA555209) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Neurotensin Antibody, Antiserum reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Neurotensin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Immunohistochemistry: - 1:200-1:400 (in PBS/0.3% Triton X-100 – Indirect Immunofluorescence). - 1:4,000-1:8,000 (in in PBS/0.3% Triton X-100 – Bn/Av-HRP Technique). Our Neurotensin antiserum was quality control tested using standard immunohistochemical methods. The antiserum demonstrates significant labeling of rat amygdala using indirect immunofluorescent and biotividin-HRP techniques. Staining is completely eliminated by pretreatment with 10ug of Neurotensin per 1 mL of diluted antibody. Tissue Preparation: 10 um cryostat - Fixative: 4% paraformaldehyde in 0.1 M phosphate buffer, pH 7.4; 500 mL over ~20-30 min. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NTS nts for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Neurotensin, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
