Store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for anti-Collagen Type IV antibody
Type IV Collagen is a non-fibrillary network of different alpha-chains: alpha 1(IV) to-alpha 6(IV). It is typically found in basal membranes of different organs (e.g. skin, lens, lung, kidney). Collagens consist of a family of highly specialized glycoproteins of which at least 16 genetically distinct types are known to date. The basal unit of a collagen molecule consists of a triple-helical structure formed by 3 alpha-chains. Predominant amino acids are glycine, proline and hydroxproline. Regularly also lysines and hydroxylysines occur, which are responsible for cross-linkage and glycosylation of the protein chains. Different composition of alpha-chains and different glycosylation contribute to the high variability of collagens in different tissues and organs. Porcine collagen type IV 100%, porcine collagens type I, II, and III <0.1%, porcine elastin, fibronectin and laminin < 0.1% (RIA at 1:5000 dilution).

Product Notes

The Collagen Type IV (Catalog #AAA397136) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Collagen Type IV, porcine reacts with Pig, Human (< 0.1%), Mouse, Rat collagen IV (<1%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Collagen Type IV can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunofluorescence (IF), ELISA (EIA), Radioimmunoassay (RIA), Immunoblotting (IB), Western Blot (WB). IFA: 1:80 IHC-P: 1:500 ELISA: 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Collagen Type IV for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Collagen Type IV, Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
