Related Product Information for SDF-1/CXCL12 elisa kit
Introduction: SDF-1 (stromal cell-derived factor-1) is small cytokine belonging to the chemokine family that is officially designated Chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 12 (CXCL12). For background information on chemokines, see CXCL11 (SCYB11; MIM 604852). Stromal cell-derived factors 1-alpha and 1-beta are small cytokines that belong to the intercrine family, members of which activate leukocytes and are often induced by proinflammatory stimuli such as lipopolysaccharide, TNF, or IL1. The intercrines are characterized by the presence of 4 conserved cysteines which form 2 disulfide bonds. They can be classified into 2 subfamilies. In the CC subfamily, which includes beta chemokine, the cysteine residues are adjacent to each other. In the CXC subfamily, which includes alpha chemokine, they are separated by an intervening amino acid. The SDF1 proteins belong to the latter group.

Principle of the Assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to SDF-1. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated monoclonal antibody preparation specific for SDF-1 and incubated. Then substrate solution A and B are added to each well. Only those wells that contain SDF-1, HRP-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The concentration of SDF-1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.

Product Notes

The Rabbit SDF-1/CXCL12 sdf1 (Catalog #AAA703013) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA703013 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit SDF-1/CXCL12. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "stromal cell derived factor 1 (SDF-1/CXCL12), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
