Related Product Information for CDK6 elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Rabbit CDK6 concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to CDK6. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for CDK6 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain CDK6, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of CDK6. You can calculate the concentration of CDK6 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase (CDK) family. CDK family members are highly similar to the gene products of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cdc28, and Schizosaccharomyces pombe cdc2, and are known to be important regulators of cell cycle progression. This kinase is a catalytic subunit of the protein kinase complex that is important for cell cycle G1 phase progression and G1/S transition. The activity of this kinase first appears in mid-G1 phase, which is controlled by the regulatory subunits including D-type cyclins and members of INK4 family of CDK inhibitors. This kinase, as well as CDK4, has been shown to phosphorylate, and thus regulate the activity of, tumor suppressor protein Rb. Expression of this gene is up-regulated in some types of cancer. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2009]

Uniprot Description

CDK6: a protein kinase of the CDK family. Important for cell cycle G1 phase progression and G1/S transition. The activity of this kinase first appears in mid-G1 phase, controlled by the regulatory subunits including D-type cyclins and members of INK4 family of CDK inhibitors. Phosphorylates and regulates the activity of the Rb tumor suppressor protein. Overexpressed and/or disrupted by translocation in leukemias, lymphomas and other cancers and amplified in gliomas and rodent cancers.

Product Notes

The Rabbit CDK6 cdk6 (Catalog #AAA2505933) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2505933 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit CDK6. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CDK6, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
