Uniprot Description

Function: Component of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex (complex III or cytochrome b-c1 complex), which is part of the mitochondrial respiratory chain that generates an electrochemical potential coupled to ATP synthesis. The complex couples electron transfer from ubiquinol to cytochrome c. QCR9 is required for formation of a fully functional complex.

Subunit structure: Fungal cytochrome b-c1 complex contains 10 subunits; 3 respiratory subunits, 2 core proteins and 5 low-molecular weight proteins. Cytochrome b-c1 complex is a homodimer.

Subcellular location: Mitochondrion inner membrane.

Miscellaneous: Present with 4550 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the UQCR10/QCR9 family.

Product Notes

The QCR9 qcr9 (Catalog #AAA1053472) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 2-66. The amino acid sequence is listed below: SFSSLYKTFF KRNAVFVGTI FAGAFVFQTV FDTAITSWYE NHNKGKLWKD VKARIAAGDG DDDDE. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytochrome b-c1 complex subunit 9 (QCR9), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
