Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for PTPRZ1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PTPRZ1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PTPRZ1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PTPRZ1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase family. Expression of this gene is restricted to the central nervous system (CNS), and it may be involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

PTPRZ1: May be involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Receptor class 5 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Human PTPRZ1 ptprz1 (Catalog #AAA922348) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA922348 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PTPRZ1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "protein tyrosine phosphatase, receptor-type, Z polypeptide 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
