Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Mouse PTPRN antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Mouse PTPRN antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Mouse PTPRN amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration ofMouse PTPRN can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and a single catalytic domain, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. This PTP was found to be an autoantigen that is reactive with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) patient sera, and thus may be a potential target of autoimmunity in diabetes mellitus. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]

Uniprot Description

PTPRN: Implicated in neuroendocrine secretory processes. May be involved in processes specific for neurosecretory granules, such as their biogenesis, trafficking or regulated exocytosis or may have a general role in neuroendocrine functions. Seems to lack intrinsic enzyme activity. May play a role in the regulation of secretory granules via its interaction with SNTB2. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Receptor class 8 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor protein phosphatase, tyrosine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q35-q36.1

Cellular Component: cell junction; cell soma; endosome; Golgi apparatus; integral to membrane; nerve terminal; perikaryon; plasma membrane; secretory granule; synapse; synaptic vesicle

Molecular Function: GTPase binding; protein binding; protein tyrosine phosphatase activity; spectrin binding

Biological Process: cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; insulin secretion; luteinization; protein amino acid dephosphorylation; response to cAMP; response to estrogen stimulus; response to insulin stimulus; response to reactive oxygen species

Product Notes

The Mouse PTPRN ptprn (Catalog #AAA764951) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA764951 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse PTPRN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type N, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
