Related Product Information for PSMB7 recombinant protein
Description: PSMB7 Human Recombinant produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 255 amino acids (44-277) and having a molecular mass of 27.6kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear higher).PSMB7 is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: Proteasome subunit beta type-7 (PSMB7) belongs to the proteasome B-type family. PSMB7 is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with an extremely ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. This core structure is comprised of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are comprised of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are comprised of 7 beta subunits. Proteasomes are scattered all over eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent manner in a non-lysosomal pathway. The processing of class I MHC peptides is a vital function of the immunoproteasome (which is a modified proteasome).

NCBI Description

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. The core structure is composed of 4 rings of 28 non-identical subunits; 2 rings are composed of 7 alpha subunits and 2 rings are composed of 7 beta subunits. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. The encoded protein is a member of the proteasome B-type family, also known as the T1B family, and is a 20S core beta subunit in the proteasome. Expression of this catalytic subunit is downregulated by gamma interferon, and proteolytic processing is required to generate a mature subunit. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 14. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

PSMB7: a proteasomal protein of the T1B peptidase family. The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex which is characterized by its ability to cleave peptides with Arg, Phe, Tyr, Leu, and Glu adjacent to the leaving group at neutral or slightly basic pH. Proteasomes are distributed throughout eukaryotic cells at a high concentration and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent process in a non-lysosomal pathway. This catalytic subunit is downregulated by gamma interferon and proteolytic processing is required to generate a mature subunit. Not present in the immunoproteasome and is replaced by catalytic subunit 2i (proteasome beta 10 subunit).

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Proteasome Subunit Beta Type 7, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
