Related Product Information for FSH elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Porcine Follicle-stimulating Hormone (also known as FSH) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, cell lysates, tissue homogenates.

Principles of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Porcine FSH antibody. FSH present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Porcine FSH Antibody is added and binds to FSH in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated FSH antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Porcine FSH. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

The pituitary glycoprotein hormone family includes follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, chorionic gonadotropin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone. All of these glycoproteins consist of an identical alpha subunit and a hormone-specific beta subunit. This gene encodes the beta subunit of follicle-stimulating hormone. In conjunction with luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone induces egg and sperm production. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Together with the alpha chain CGA constitutes follitropin, the follicle-stimulating hormone, and provides its biological specificity to the hormone heterodimer. Binds FSHR, a G protein-coupled receptor, on target cells to activate downstream signaling pathways (PubMed:2494176, PubMed:24692546). Follitropin is involved in follicle development and spermatogenesis in reproductive organs (PubMed:407105, PubMed:8220432).

Product Notes

The Porcine FSH fshb (Catalog #AAA161956) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA161956 ELISA Kit recognizes Porcine FSH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "follicle-stimulating hormone, FSH, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
