Related Product Information for anti-ZNRF1 antibody
In a study identifying genes in rat that are upregulated
in response to nerve damage, a gene which is highly expressed in
ganglia and in the central nervous system was found. The protein
encoded by the rat gene contains both a zinc finger and a RING
finger motif and is localized in the endosome/lysosome compartment,
indicating that it may be involved in ubiquitin-mediated protein
modification. The protein encoded by this human gene is highly
similar in sequence to that encoded by the rat gene. [provided by
RefSeq].

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that plays a role in neural-cell differentiation. Overexpression of this gene causes neurite-like elongation. The encoded protein contains both a zinc finger and a RING finger motif and is localized in the endosome/lysosome compartment, indicating that it may be involved in ubiquitin-mediated protein modification, and in synaptic vessicle membranes in neurons. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

Uniprot Description

ZNRF1: E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that mediates the ubiquitination of AKT1 and GLUL, thereby playing a role in neuron cells differentiation. Plays a role in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal transmission and plasticity. Regulates Schwann cells differentiation by mediating ubiquitination of GLUL. Promotes neurodegeneration by mediating 'Lys-48'-linked polyubiquitination and subsequent degradation of AKT1 in axons: degradation of AKT1 prevents AKT1-mediated phosphorylation of GSK3B, leading to GSK3B activation and phosphorylation of DPYSL2/CRMP2 followed by destabilization of microtubule assembly in axons (Probable). 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin ligase; EC 6.3.2.-; Ligase; EC 6.3.2.19; Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 16q23.1

Cellular Component: membrane; synaptic vesicle membrane; lysosome; cytosol; cell junction; endosome

Molecular Function: protein binding; zinc ion binding; ubiquitin-protein ligase activity; ligase activity

Biological Process: proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process

Product Notes

The ZNRF1 znrf1 (Catalog #AAA9214618) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 59-86. The ZNRF1 Antibody (Center) reacts with Human (Predicted Reactivity: Mouse) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZNRF1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZNRF1 znrf1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZNRF1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
