ZSCAN22 (zinc finger and SCAN domain-containing protein 22), also known as HKR2 or ZNF50 (zinc finger protein 50), is a 491 amino acid nuclear protein. Belonging to the Krueppel C2 H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZSCAN22 contains eight C2 H2-type zinc fingers and one SCAN box domain. ZSCAN22 may be involved in transcriptional regulation, and becomes phosphorylated upon DNA damage.
