Western Blot (WB)

(Anti-EGR-1 Antibody - Western Blot. Western blot of Affinity Purified anti-EGR-1 antibody shows detection of a predominant band at ~58 kD corresponding to EGR-1 present in mouse embryonic fibroblast whole cell lysate (arrowhead). Approximately 35 ug of lysate was separated by 4-20% SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose. After blocking the membrane was probed with the primary antibody diluted to 1:1500. Reaction occurred 2 hours at room temperature followed by washes and reaction with a 1:10000 dilution of IRDye800 conjugated Gt-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L] MX (for 45 min at room temperature. IRDye800 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR. IRDye is a trademark of LI-COR, Inc. Other detection systems will yield similar results.)

EGR-1 (also called Early Growth Response protein 1, Krox-24 protein, ZIF268, Nerve growth factor-induced protein A or NGFI-A, Transcription factor ETR103, and Zinc finger protein 225 or AT225) is a transcriptional regulator that recognizes and binds to the DNA sequence 5'-CGCCCCCGC-3' (EGR-site). EGR1 has been implicated in diverse roles in the regulation of cell growth, apoptosis, and differentiation.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the EGR family of C2H2-type zinc-finger proteins. It is a nuclear protein and functions as a transcriptional regulator. The products of target genes it activates are required for differentitation and mitogenesis. Studies suggest this is a cancer suppressor gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2014]

Product Notes

The ZIF268 egr1 (Catalog #AAA240672) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit Polyclonal to Human ZIF268 / EGR1 reacts with Chimpanzee, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZIF268 / EGR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin), Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). ELISA (1:4000 - 1:16000), IHC-P (10 ug/ml), WB (1:500 - 1:3000) Usage: Immunohistochemistry: was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibo.. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZIF268 egr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZIF268 / EGR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
