NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the TIS11 family of early response genes. Family members are induced by various agonists such as the phorbol ester TPA and the polypeptide mitogen EGF. The encoded protein contains a distinguishing putative zinc finger domain with a repeating cys-his motif. This putative nuclear transcription factor most likely functions in regulating the response to growth factors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ZFP36L2: Probable regulatory protein involved in regulating the response to growth factors. RNA-binding protein that binds to 5'UUAUUUAUUU-3' core sequence. Binds to the class II AU-rich element (ARE) in the 3'-UTR of target mRNAs and promotes their deadenylation and degradation.
Protein type: Transcription factor
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p22.3-p21
Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus
Molecular Function: DNA binding; metal ion binding; AU-rich element binding; transcription factor activity
Biological Process: cell proliferation; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; somatic stem cell maintenance; mRNA catabolic process; T cell differentiation in the thymus; somatic stem cell division; hemopoiesis; regulation of mRNA stability; mRNA catabolic process, deadenylation-dependent decay

Product Notes
The ZFP36L2 zfp36l2 (Catalog #AAA7129986) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ZFP36L2 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ZFP36L2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). ELISA: 1:1000-1:2000 WB: 1:200-1:1000 IHC: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ZFP36L2 zfp36l2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ZFP36L2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
