NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mitochondrial protein that catalyzes the attachment of tyrosine to tRNA(Tyr). Mutations in this gene are associated with myopathy with lactic acidosis and sideroblastic anemia type 2 (MLASA2). [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

YARS2: Catalyzes the attachment of tyrosine to tRNA(Tyr) in a two-step reaction: tyrosine is first activated by ATP to form Tyr- AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Tyr). Defects in YARS2 are the cause of myopathy with lactic acidosis and sideroblastic anemia type 2 (MLASA2). MLASA2 is a rare oxidative phosphorylation disorder specific to skeletal muscle and bone marrow. Affected individuals manifest sideroblastic anemia, progressive lethargy, muscle weakness, and exercise intolerance associated with persistent lactic acidemia. Belongs to the class-I aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family.

Protein type: Ligase; Translation; RNA-binding; Mitochondrial; EC 6.1.1.1

Product Notes

The YARS2 yars2 (Catalog #AAA9204249) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 43-71. The YARS2 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's YARS2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the YARS2 yars2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "YARS2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
