Related Product Information for anti-XRN2 antibody
This gene shares similarity with the mouse Dhm1 and the yeast dhp1 gene. The yeast gene is involved in homologous recombination and RNA metabolism, such as RNA synthesis and RNA trafficking. Complementation studies show that Dhm1 has a similar function in mouse as dhp1. The function of the human gene has not yet been determined. Transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene; however, their full-length nature is not known.

Uniprot Description

XRN2: Possesses 5'->3' exoribonuclease activity. May promote the termination of transcription by RNA polymerase II. During transcription termination, cleavage at the polyadenylation site liberates a 5' fragment which is subsequently processed to form the mature mRNA and a 3' fragment which remains attached to the elongating polymerase. The processive degradation of this 3' fragment by this protein may promote termination of transcription. Belongs to the 5'-3' exonuclease family. XRN2/RAT1 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.1.13.-; Ribonuclease; RNA processing; RNA-binding; Cell development/differentiation; Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 20p11.2-p11.1

Cellular Component: membrane; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: 5'-3' exonuclease activity; 5'-3' exoribonuclease activity; nuclease activity; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: RNA processing; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; RNA metabolic process; RNA catabolic process; spermatogenesis; cell growth; mRNA processing; DNA catabolic process, exonucleolytic; transcription termination

Product Notes

The XRN2 xrn2 (Catalog #AAA6364129) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The XRN2, NT (XRN2, 5'-3' exoribonuclease 2, DHM1-like protein) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's XRN2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XRN2 xrn2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "XRN2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
