Related Product Information for anti-VPS52 antibody
This gene encodes a protein that is similar to the yeast suppressor of actin mutations 2 gene. The yeast protein forms a subunit of the tetrameric Golgi-associated retrograde protein complex that is involved in vesicle trafficking from from both early and late endosomes, back to the trans-Golgi network. This gene is located on chromosome 6 in a head-to-head orientation with the gene encoding ribosomal protein S18.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is similar to the yeast suppressor of actin mutations 2 gene. The yeast protein forms a subunit of the tetrameric Golgi-associated retrograde protein complex that is involved in vesicle trafficking from from both early and late endosomes, back to the trans-Golgi network. This gene is located on chromosome 6 in a head-to-head orientation with the gene encoding ribosomal protein S18. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Function: May be involved in retrograde transport of early and late endosomes to the late Golgi. The GARP complex is required for the maintenance of the cycling of mannose 6-phosphate receptors between the TGN and endosomes, this cycling is necessary for proper lysosomal sorting of acid hydrolases such as CTSD. Ref.6 Ref.7

Subunit structure: Component of the Golgi-associated retrograde protein (GARP) complex, also called VFT (VPS fifty-three) complex, composed of VPS51, VPS52, VPS53 and VPS54. Interacts with RAB6A and STX10. Ref.6 Ref.8

Subcellular location: Golgi apparatus › trans-Golgi network membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Endosome membrane; Peripheral membrane protein Ref.6 Ref.7.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the VPS52 family.

Sequence caution: The sequence CAI95619.1 differs from that shown. Reason: Erroneous gene model prediction.

Product Notes

The VPS52 vps52 (Catalog #AAA6362778) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VPS52, CT (VPS52, SACM2L, Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein 52 homolog, SAC2 suppressor of actin mutations 2-like protein) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VPS52 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-100 ELISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VPS52 vps52 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VPS52, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
