Related Product Information for anti-VISA antibody
VISA is an important protein required for innate immune defence against viruses. VISA acts downstream of DDX58 and IFIH1/MDA5, which detect intracellular dsRNA produced during viral replication, to coordinate pathways leading to the activation of NF-kappa-B, IRF3 and IRF7, and to the subsequent induction of antiviral cytokines such as IFN-beta and RANTES (CCL5). VISA is believed to activate the same pathways following detection of extracellular dsRNA by TLR3 and it has been hypothosized that VISA may protect cells from apoptosis. VISA is a ubiquitously expressed protein present in a range of cell types including T-cells, monocytes and epithelial cells, highest levels in tissues of the heart, skeletal muscle, liver, placenta and in peripheral blood leukocytes. Multiple isoforms of VISA have been identified.

Product Notes

The VISA (Catalog #AAA6505827) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VISA (Virus-Induced Signaling Adapter, Mitochondrial Antiviral Signaling Protein, MAVS, CARD Adapter Inducing Interferon-beta, Cardif, IPS-1) (AP) reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VISA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VISA for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VISA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
