Related Product Information for anti-VAV1 antibody
Rabbit anti VAV1 (pTyr174) antibody recognizes VAV1, also known as vav guanine nucleotide exchange factor 1 when phosphorylated at tyrosine 174. VAV1 is a member of the Vav family of guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). GEFs are involved in the activation of small GTPases which play a role in many signaling pathways. Potential substrates for VAV1 activity include Rac1, Cdc42 RhoA and RhoG. VAV1 is phosphorylated on tyrosine 174 leads to conformational changes and activation of VAV1 (Katzav 2015).

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the VAV gene family. The VAV proteins are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) for Rho family GTPases that activate pathways leading to actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional alterations. The encoded protein is important in hematopoiesis, playing a role in T-cell and B-cell development and activation. The encoded protein has been identified as the specific binding partner of Nef proteins from HIV-1. Coexpression and binding of these partners initiates profound morphological changes, cytoskeletal rearrangements and the JNK/SAPK signaling cascade, leading to increased levels of viral transcription and replication. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

Uniprot Description

Couples tyrosine kinase signals with the activation of the Rho/Rac GTPases, thus leading to cell differentiation and/or proliferation.

Product Notes

The VAV1 vav1 (Catalog #AAA225324) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti VAV1 (pTyr174) reacts with Human, Mouse (Expected from Sequence), Rat (Expected from Sequence) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VAV1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 1:500-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VAV1 vav1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VAV1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
