Related Product Information for anti-VIPR1 antibody
Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is a 28-aminoacid peptide (human, chr 6q26-q27). Expressed and secreted by neurons innervating primary and secondary immune organs such as lymph nodes with a Mol.wt of 20kD. VIP is a potent neurotrophic factor causes vasodilation, lowers arterial blood pressure, and relaxes the smooth muscle of trachea, stomach and gall bladder. VIP also modulates several T-lymphocyte activities including motility, cytokine production, proliferation and apoptosis, VIP exerts its biological activity by binding to two closely related class II G-protein-coupled receptors VPAC-1 and VPAC-2 beside this VIP has its own receptors VIPR1&2 (Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide Receptor 1&2) and VIPRRP (VIP receptor-gene repressor protein). VIP shows similarities to glucagon, secretin and gastric inhibitory peptide (GIP) as such it has been considered a member of the glucagon-secretin family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a receptor for vasoactive intestinal peptide, a small neuropeptide. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is involved in smooth muscle relaxation, exocrine and endocrine secretion, and water and ion flux in lung and intestinal epithelia. Its actions are effected through integral membrane receptors associated with a guanine nucleotide binding protein which activates adenylate cyclase. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

VIPR1: This is a receptor for VIP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. The affinity is VIP = PACAP-27 > PACAP-38. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 2; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p22

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; receptor complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; vasoactive intestinal polypeptide receptor activity

Biological Process: synaptic transmission; G-protein signaling, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; muscle contraction; digestion; positive regulation of cell proliferation; immune response

Product Notes

The VIPR1 vipr1 (Catalog #AAA622925) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide Receptor 1 (HVR1, II, PACAP-R-2, RCD1, RDC1, VAPC1, VIP-R-1, VIPR, VIPR1, VIRG, VPAC1) reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide Receptor 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml; V2115-20M Control peptide can be used to coat ELISA plates at 1ug/ml. Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml; Using ECL technique. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VIPR1 vipr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide Receptor 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
