Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse UVRAG Polyclonal Antibody | anti-UVRAG antibody
UVRAG, CT (UV Radiation Resistance-associated Gene Protein, p63, DHTX, VPS38) (Biotin)
ELISA: 1:1,000
IP: 5ug/ml
WB: 1:100-500
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Fluorescent image of U251 cells stained with UVRAG (C-term) antibody. U251 cells were treated with Chloroquine (50 uM,16h), then fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.2%, 30 min). Cells were then incubated with AP1850b UVRAG (C-term) primary antibody (1:200, 2 h at room temperature). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:1000, 1h). Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst 33342 (blue) (10 ug/ml, 5 min). UVRAG immunoreactivity is localized to autophagic vacuoles in the cytoplasm of U251 cells.)
Immunoprecipitation (IP)
(Immunoprecipitation and western blot analysis of anti-UVRAG Pab in 293T cells. UVRAG is immunoprecipitated (Lane 2) and detected in 293T cell transiently transfected with mouse UVRAG (Lane 1). Detection of endogenous UVRAG is shown in 293T cells (Lane 3) but is reduced by UVRAG siRNA transfection (Lane 4). Data courtesy of Dr. Hong-Gang Wang, Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, FL.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocarcinoma tissue reacted with hUVRAG (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Immunofluorescence staining of Autophagy UVRAG antibody on Methanol-fixed HeLa cells. Data courtesy of Dr. Eeva-Liisa Eskelinen, University of Helsinki,Finland.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Observed: 75 kDa
NCBI Description
This gene complements the ultraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells and encodes a protein with a C2 domain. The protein activates the Beclin1-PI(3)KC3 complex, promoting autophagy and suppressing the proliferation and tumorigenicity of human colon cancer cells. Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with left-right axis malformation and mutations in this gene have been associated with colon cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
UVRAG: Forms a complex with BECN1, PIK3C3 and PIK3R4. A subpopulation of these complexes also harbor KIAA0226/Rubicon. UVRAG-containing complexes never including ATG14, both forming mutually exclusive complexes with BECN1 through direct competition. Highly expressed in brain, lung, kidney and liver.
Protein type: Autophagy
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13.5
Cellular Component: protein complex; lysosome; early endosome; late endosome; cytoplasm; phagocytic vesicle
Molecular Function: protein binding; SNARE binding; SH3 domain binding
Biological Process: entry of virus into host cell; DNA repair; positive regulation of autophagy

Product Notes
The UVRAG uvrag (Catalog #AAA6362127) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UVRAG, CT (UV Radiation Resistance-associated Gene Protein, p63, DHTX, VPS38) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UVRAG can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Western Blot (WB), Immunofluorescence (IF). IHC: 1:50-100 ELISA: 1:1,000 IP: 5ug/ml WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UVRAG uvrag for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UVRAG, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
