Uniprot Description

ULK3: Serine/threonine protein kinase that acts as a regulator of Sonic hedgehog (SHH) signaling and autophagy. Acts as a negative regulator of SHH signaling in the absence of SHH ligand: interacts with SUFU, thereby inactivating the protein kinase activity and preventing phosphorylation of GLI proteins (GLI1, GLI2 and/or GLI3). Positively regulates SHH signaling in the presence of SHH: dissociates from SUFU, autophosphorylates and mediates phosphorylation of GLI2, activating it and promoting its nuclear translocation. Phosphorylates in vitro GLI2, as well as GLI1 and GLI3, although less efficiently. Also acts as a regulator of autophagy: following cellular senescence, able to induce autophagy. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. Ser/Thr protein kinase family. APG1/unc-51/ULK1 subfamily. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 2.7.11.1; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Protein kinase, Other; Kinase, protein; Other group; ULK family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 15q24.1

Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein serine/threonine kinase activity; protein binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: negative regulation of smoothened signaling pathway; protein amino acid autophosphorylation; positive regulation of smoothened signaling pathway; autophagy; regulation of autophagy; autophagic vacuole formation

Product Notes

The ULK3 ulk3 (Catalog #AAA6504809) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ULK3, NT (Serine/Threonine-protein Kinase ULK3, Unc-51-like Kinase 3) (MaxLight 405) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ULK3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:10-1:50 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:50-1:100 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ULK3 ulk3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ULK3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
