NCBI Description

This gene encodes a nuclear protein which is involved in cell-cycle regulation. The encoded protein is a ubiquitin-ligase capable of ubiquinating PCNP (PEST-containing nuclear protein), and together they may play a role in tumorigenesis. The encoded protein contains an NIRF_N domain, a PHD finger, a set- and ring-associated (SRA) domain, and a RING finger domain and several of these domains have been shown to be essential for the regulation of cell proliferation. This protein may also have a role in intranuclear degradation of polyglutamine aggregates. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants some of which are non-protein coding. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]

Uniprot Description

E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that is an intermolecular hub protein in the cell cycle network. Through cooperative DNA and histone binding, may contribute to a tighter epigenetic control of gene expression in differentiated cells. Ubiquitinates cyclins, CCND1 and CCNE1, in an apparently phosphorylation-independent manner and induces G1 arrest. Also ubiquitinates PCNP leading to its degradation by the proteasome. E3 SUMO-, but not ubiquitin-, protein ligase for ZNF131.

Product Notes

The UHRF2 uhrf2 (Catalog #AAA7114316) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UHRF2 Antibody, FITC Conjugated reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UHRF2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UHRF2 uhrf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UHRF2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
