Related Product Information for anti-UBE4A antibody
Ubiquitination requires a ubiquitin-activating enzyme, a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme, and usually a substrate-specific ubiquitin-protein ligase. Multiubiquitination needs a fourth factor, to bind to the ubiquitin moieties of preformed conjugates and catalyze ubiquitin chain assembly in conjunction with the first three proteins.1 Human protein KIAA0126, with a predicted 1,073aa residues, is a member of the novel protein family defined by ubiquitination conjugation factor E4.2 In yeast, E4 activity is linked to cell survival under stress conditions, indicating that eucaryotes use E4-dependent proteolysis pathways for multiple cellular functions.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the U-box ubiquitin ligase family. The encoded protein is involved in multiubiquitin chain assembly and plays a critical role in chromosome condensation and separation through the polyubiquitination of securin. Autoantibodies against the encoded protein may be markers for scleroderma and Crohn's disease. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome 3. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

UBE4A: Binds to the ubiquitin moieties of preformed conjugates and catalyzes ubiquitin chain assembly in conjunction with E1, E2, and E3. Belongs to the ubiquitin conjugation factor E4 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Ubiquitin conjugating system; EC 6.3.2.19; EC 6.3.2.-; Ubiquitin ligase; Ligase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; ubiquitin ligase complex

Molecular Function: protein binding; ligase activity

Biological Process: ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; protein polyubiquitination

Product Notes

The UBE4A ube4a (Catalog #AAA630821) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UBE4A, CT (Ubiquitin Conjugation Factor E4 A, KIAA0126) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UBE4A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:100-1:200 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UBE4A ube4a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UBE4A, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
