Related Product Information for anti-UBC9 antibody
UBE2I (Ubc9) is a member of the E2 family and is specific for the conjugation of SUMO to a variety of target proteins. SUMO conjugation to target proteins is mediated by a different, but analogous, pathway to ubiquitinylation. This E2 is unusual in that it interacts directly with protein substrates that are modified by sumoylation, and may play a role in substrate recognition. UBE2I can mediate the conjugation of SUMO-1 to a variety of proteins including RanGAP1, IκBα, and PML without the requirement of an E3 ligase. UBE2I is essential for nuclear architecture and chromosome segregation.

Catalytic activity: ATP + SUMO + protein lysine = AMP + diphosphate + protein N-SUMOyllysine.

Pathway: Protein modification; protein sumoylation.

Subunit structure: Interacts with SIZ1. Ref.5 Ref.6

Subcellular location: Nucleus Ref.7.

Miscellaneous: Present with 2600 molecules/cell in log phase SD medium. Ref.8

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family.

Product Notes

The UBC9 ubc9 (Catalog #AAA626003) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UBC9, NT (SUMO-conjugating Enzyme UBC9, SUMO-protein Ligase, Ubiquitin-conjugating Enzyme E2 I, Ubiquitin-protein Ligase I, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein I, Ubiquitin Carrier Protein 9, p18, UBE2I, UBC9, UBCE9) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UBC9 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Western Blot: 1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:100 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UBC9 ubc9 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UBC9, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
