Related Product Information for anti-UAP1 antibody
Converts UTP and GlcNAc-1-P into UDP-GlcNAc, and UTP and GalNAc-1-P into UDP-GalNAc. Isoform AGX1 has 2 to 3 times higher activity towards GalNAc-1-P, while isoform AGX2 has 8 times more activity towards GlcNAc-1-P. This protein is involved in step 1 of the subpathway that synthesizes UDP-N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine from N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine 1-phosphate.

Uniprot Description

UAP1: Converts UDP and GlcNAc-1-P into UDP-GlcNAc, and UDP and GalNAc-1-P into UDP-GalNAc. Isoform AGX1 has 2 to 3 times higher activity towards GalNAc-1-P, while isoform AGX2 has 8 times more activity towards GlcNAc-1-P. Belongs to the UDPGP type 1 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transferase; EC 2.7.7.23; EC 2.7.7.83; Carbohydrate Metabolism - amino sugar and nucleotide sugar; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q23.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol

Molecular Function: UDP-N-acetylglucosamine diphosphorylase activity; carbohydrate binding

Biological Process: cellular protein metabolic process; dolichol-linked oligosaccharide biosynthetic process; UDP-N-acetylglucosamine biosynthetic process; protein amino acid N-linked glycosylation via asparagine; post-translational protein modification

Product Notes

The UAP1 uap1 (Catalog #AAA3013628) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The UAP1 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's UAP1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:500 ICC: 1:50-1:200 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC/FACS: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the UAP1 uap1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "UAP1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
