Related Product Information for anti-TTK antibody
This gene encodes a dual specificity protein kinase with the ability to phosphorylate tyrosine, serine and threonine. Associated with cell proliferation, this protein is essential for chromosome alignment at the centromere during mitosis and is required for centrosome duplication. It has been found to be a critical mitotic checkpoint protein for accurate segregation of chromosomes during mitosis. Tumorigenesis may occur when this protein fails to degrade and produces excess centrosomes resulting in aberrant mitotic spindles. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Associated with cell proliferation, this protein is essential for chromosome alignment at the centromere during mitosis and is required for centrosome duplication. It has been found to be a critical mitotic checkpoint protein for accurate segregation of chromosomes during mitosis. Uniprot Description

TTK: a dual-specificity protein kinase orthologous to the yeast monopolar spindle (Mps1) kinase that is required for spindle pole duplication and the spindle checkpoint but not for centrosome duplication. Localized to centrosomes, kinetochores and nuclear pores. Its enzymatic activity is required for the recruitment of Mad1, Mad2, Bub1 and Bub3 to the kinetochore. Mps1 mRNA levels change little throughout the cell cycle, but its protein expression varies during the cell cycle. Overexpression arrests cells in metaphase by activating the checkpoint.

Protein type: Kinase, protein; EC 2.7.12.1; Protein kinase, Other; Cancer Testis Antigen (CTA); Protein kinase, dual-specificity (non-receptor); Other group; TTK family

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q14.1

Cellular Component: membrane; spindle

Molecular Function: protein serine/threonine kinase activity; protein binding; protein-tyrosine kinase activity; protein serine/threonine/tyrosine kinase activity; ATP binding

Biological Process: peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation; mitotic spindle organization and biogenesis; mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint; positive regulation of cell proliferation; spindle organization and biogenesis; chromosome separation

Product Notes

The TTK ttk (Catalog #AAA6360015) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TTK, NT (TTK, MPS1, MPS1L1, Dual specificity protein kinase TTK, Phosphotyrosine picked threonine-protein kinase) (Biotin) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TTK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TTK ttk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TTK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
