NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a serine-threonine kinase that putatively phosphorylates tau and tubulin proteins. Mutations in this gene cause spinocerebellar ataxia type 11 (SCA11); a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive ataxia and atrophy of the cerebellum and brainstem. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2009]
Uniprot Description
TTBK2: Serine/threonine kinase which is able to phosphorylate tau on serines. Defects in TTBK2 are the cause of spinocerebellar ataxia type 11 (SCA11). Spinocerebellar ataxia is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous group of cerebellar disorders. Patients show progressive incoordination of gait and often poor coordination of hands, speech and eye movements, due to degeneration of the cerebellum with variable involvement of the brainstem and spinal cord. SCA11 is an autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia (ADCA). It is a relatively benign, late-onset, slowly progressive neurologic disorder. Belongs to the protein kinase superfamily. CK1 Ser/Thr protein kinase family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The TTBK2 ttbk2 (Catalog #AAA9128459) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TTBK2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TTBK2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB 1:500 - 1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TTBK2 ttbk2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TTBK2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
