NCBI Description

a protooncogene; receptor that binds to nerve growth factor (NGF) [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

TrkA: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Trk family. High affinity receptor for nerve growth factor, neurotrophin-3 and neurotrophin-4/5 but not brain- derived neurotrophic factor. Known substrates include Shc, PI-3K, and PLC-gamma-1. Has a crucial role in the development and function of the nociceptive reception system. Two splice variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The TrkA ntrk1 (Catalog #AAA6503754) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TrkA (Tyrosine Kinase Receptor A, Nerve Growth Factor Receptor, NGFR) (Biotin) reacts with Rat, Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TrkA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, Immunoprecipitation (IP). ICC: 10ug/ml showed positive staining for TrkA in PC-12 cells fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde. IHC-P: 1:200 detected TrkA in neurons of the hippocampal region and adrenal gland's medulla. IP: 4ug immunoprecipitates TrkA from 500ug of PC-12 RIPA lysate. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. WB: 0.5-2.0ug/ml detected TrkA in RIPA lysates from human A431 cells, TrkA in mouse 3T3 and rat PC-12 cell lysates. A431 cell lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with. Proteins were visualized using a Gt x Rb IgG (HRP) and a chemiluminescence detection system. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TrkA ntrk1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TrkA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
