Related Product Information for anti-TRIM28 antibody
TRIM28 Antibody: TRIM28, also known as KAP-1, is a member of the Transcriptional Intermediary Factor 1 (TIF1) subfamily and contains a RING finger, B box, Coiled coil, PHD/TTC, and bromodomain. TRIM28 is a corepressor for Kruppel-associated box (KRAB)-domain-containing zinc finger proteins and plays a critical role in early embryogenesis. TRIM28 acts as a transcriptional mediator by binding liganded nuclear receptors, including retinoic acid (RAR), retinoid X (RXR) and estrogen (ER) receptors. TRIM28 associates with both heterochromatin and euchromatin, causing gene silencing by both HP1 binding and histone deacetylation.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene mediates transcriptional control by interaction with the Kruppel-associated box repression domain found in many transcription factors. The protein localizes to the nucleus and is thought to associate with specific chromatin regions. The protein is a member of the tripartite motif family. This tripartite motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TIF1B: an atypical protein kinase that functions as a transcriptional coactivator. Mediates transcriptional regulation by interaction with the Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) repression domain found in many transcription factors. Binds to the negative regulatory domain of c-Myb and negatively regulates the c-Myb-dependent trans-activation. Localizes to the nucleus and is thought to associate with specific chromatin regions. Phosphorylated in an ATM-dependent manner following double-strand breaks. Its phosphorylation in response to DNA damage leads to chromatin relaxation. A member of the tripartite motif family. The tripartite motif includes three zinc-binding domains, a RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled-coil region.

Product Notes

The TRIM28 trim28 (Catalog #AAA153669) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TRIM28 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TRIM28 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). TRIM28 antibody can be used for detection of TRIM28 by Western blot at 1 - 2 mug/mL. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRIM28 trim28 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TRIM28, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
