Related Product Information for anti-SSR1 antibody
The signal sequence receptor (SSR) is a glycosylated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane receptor associated with protein translocation across the ER membrane. The SSR consists of 2 subunits, a 34-kD glycoprotein encoded by this gene and a 22-kD glycoprotein. This gene generates several mRNA species as a result of complex alternative polyadenylation. This gene is unusual in that it utilizes arrays of polyA signal sequences that are exclusively non-canonical.

NCBI Description

The signal sequence receptor (SSR) is a glycosylated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane receptor associated with protein translocation across the ER membrane. The SSR consists of 2 subunits, a 34-kD glycoprotein encoded by this gene and a 22-kD glycoprotein. This gene generates several mRNA species as a result of complex alternative polyadenylation. This gene is unusual in that it utilizes arrays of polyA signal sequences that are mostly non-canonical. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

SSR1: TRAP proteins are part of a complex whose function is to bind calcium to the ER membrane and thereby regulate the retention of ER resident proteins. May be involved in the recycling of the translocation apparatus after completion of the translocation process or may function as a membrane-bound chaperone facilitating folding of translocated proteins. Belongs to the TRAP-alpha family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p24.3

Cellular Component: endoplasmic reticulum membrane; endoplasmic reticulum; integral to membrane

Molecular Function: protein binding

Biological Process: SRP-dependent cotranslational protein targeting to membrane; unfolded protein response, activation of signaling protein activity; cellular protein metabolic process; translation; unfolded protein response; positive regulation of cell proliferation; gene expression; cotranslational protein targeting to membrane

Product Notes

The SSR1 ssr1 (Catalog #AAA627112) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Translocon-associated Protein Subunit alpha, NT (SSR1, TRAP-alpha, Signal Sequence Receptor Subunit alpha, SSR-alpha, SSR1, TRAPA, PSEC0262) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Translocon-associated Protein Subunit alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000 Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 Immunohistochemistry: 1:10-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SSR1 ssr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Translocon-associated Protein Subunit alpha, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
