Rabbit anti-Human TPH1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-TPH1 antibody
TPH1, NT (Tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 1, Tryptophan 5-monooxygenase 1, TRPH, TPRH, TPH) (PE)
FLISA: 1:1,000
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of TPH1 Antibody (N-term) in 293 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). TPH1 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue with TPH1 Antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow cytometric analysis of widr cells using TPH1 Antibody (N-term)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of TPH1 Antibody (N-term) with 293 cell followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the aromatic amino acid hydroxylase family. The encoded protein catalyzes the first and rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of serotonin, an important hormone and neurotransmitter. Mutations in this gene have been associated with an elevated risk for a variety of diseases and disorders, including schizophrenia, somatic anxiety, anger-related traits, bipolar disorder, suicidal behavior, addictions, and others.[provided by RefSeq, Apr 2009]
Uniprot Description
TPH1: an enzyme that is rate-limiting in the biosynthesis of serotonin. It catalyzes the biopterin dependent monooxygenation of tryptophan to 5-hydroxytryptophan (5HT), which is subsequently decarboxylated to form the neurotransmitter serotonin. Its expression is limited to a few specialized tissues: raphe neurons, pinealocytes, mast cells, mononuclear leukocytes, beta-cells of the islets of Langerhans, and intestinal and pancreatic enterochromaffin cells. Two alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
Protein type: Oxidoreductase; Amino Acid Metabolism - tryptophan; EC 1.14.16.4
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11p15.3-p14
Cellular Component: neuron projection; cytosol
Molecular Function: amino acid binding; tryptophan 5-monooxygenase activity; iron ion binding
Biological Process: circadian rhythm; aromatic amino acid family metabolic process; indolalkylamine biosynthetic process; negative regulation of ossification; positive regulation of fat cell differentiation; bone remodeling; serotonin biosynthetic process

Product Notes
The TPH1 tph1 (Catalog #AAA6503917) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TPH1, NT (Tryptophan 5-hydroxylase 1, Tryptophan 5-monooxygenase 1, TRPH, TPRH, TPH) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TPH1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-1:500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TPH1 tph1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TPH1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
