Related Product Information for anti-TOLLIP antibody
Members of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family, named for the closely related Toll receptor in Drosophila, play a pivotal role in innate immune responses. TLRs recognize conserved motifs found in various pathogens and mediate defense responses. Triggering of the TLR pathway leads to the activation of NF-kappaB and subsequent regulation of immune and inflammatory genes. The TLRs and members of the IL-1 receptor family share a conserved stretch of approximately 200 amino acids known as the Toll/Interleukin-1 receptor (TIR) domain.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a ubiquitin-binding protein that interacts with several Toll-like receptor (TLR) signaling cascade components. The encoded protein regulates inflammatory signaling and is involved in interleukin-1 receptor trafficking and in the turnover of IL1R-associated kinase. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

Uniprot Description

TOLLIP: Component of the signaling pathway of IL-1 and Toll-like receptors. Inhibits cell activation by microbial products. Recruits IRAK1 to the IL-1 receptor complex. Inhibits IRAK1 phosphorylation and kinase activity. Oligomerizes. Binds to TLR2 and the TLR4-MD2 complex via its C-terminus. Exists as complex with IRAK1 in unstimulated cells. Upon IL-1 signaling, Tollip binds to the activated IL-1 receptor complex containing IL-1RI, IL-1RacP and the adapter protein MyD88, where it interacts with the TIR domain of IL-1RacP. MyD88 then triggers IRAK1 autophosphorylation, which in turn leads to the dissociation of IRAK1 from Tollip and IL-1RAcP. Interacts with TOM1L2. Belongs to the tollip family.

Product Notes

The TOLLIP tollip (Catalog #AAA3008303) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Tollip Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Tollip can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 IF: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TOLLIP tollip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tollip, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
