Antiserum Preparation
Antisera to rat TNF alpha were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG was prepared from whole serum by affinity chromatography.
Target Species
Rat
Preparation and Storage
Prior to reconstitution store at 4 degree C. Following reconstitution store at -20 degree C. This product should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use.
Shelf Life: 12 months from date of reconstitution.
Related Product Information for anti-TNF ALPHA antibody
Rabbit anti Rat TNF alpha antibody recognizes rat tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha), also known as Cachectin or Tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 2. Rat TNFalpha is a 235 amino acid ~17kDa single pass type II O-linked transmembrane glycoprotein, it also exists as a secreted cytokine through cleavage between residues 79 and 80. TNFalpha is produced by many cell types including macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils and a population of activated NK cells.

NCBI Description

acts as a cytokine; binds TNF receptors; plays a role in regulation of cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis, and inflammatory response [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

TNF-a: Cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and can induce cell death of certain tumor cell lines. It is potent pyrogen causing fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion and is implicated in the induction of cachexia, Under certain conditions it can stimulate cell proliferation and induce cell differentiation. Homotrimer. Interacts with SPPL2B. Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family.

Product Notes

The TNF ALPHA tnf (Catalog #AAA221295) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's TNF ALPHA can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Functional Assays (FN), Immunohistology Paraffin, Western Blot (WB). ELISA: Minimum Dilution: 0.5; Maximum Dilution: 2.0 ug/ml; Functional Assays: Minimum Dilution: 0.07; Maximum Dilution: 0.1 ug/ml; Western Blotting: Minimum Dilution: 0.1; Maximum Dilution: 0.2 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TNF ALPHA tnf for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TNF ALPHA, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
