Related Product Information for anti-TEK antibody
Tie2 (also known as TEK) is an angiogenic receptor tyrosine kinase required for the later stage of blood vessel maturation. Ligand binding induces receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation on multiple tyrosine residues. Phosphorylation of Tie2 at Y1102 results in the activation of PI 3-kinase.

NCBI Description

The TEK receptor tyrosine kinase is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells in mice, rats, and humans. This receptor possesses a unique extracellular domain containing 2 immunoglobulin-like loops separated by 3 epidermal growth factor-like repeats that are connected to 3 fibronectin type III-like repeats. The ligand for the receptor is angiopoietin-1. Defects in TEK are associated with inherited venous malformations; the TEK signaling pathway appears to be critical for endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis. TEK is closely related to the TIE receptor tyrosine kinase. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

TIE2: a receptor tyrosine kinase of the Tie family. Receptor for angiopoietin 1. Expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. May constitute the earliest mammalian endothelial cell lineage marker. Appears to be critical for endothelial cell-smooth muscle cell communication in venous morphogenesis. TEK is closely related to the TIE receptor tyrosine kinase.

Product Notes

The TEK tek (Catalog #AAA612813) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Tie2, phosphorylated (Tyr1102) (Tunica Internal Endothelial Cell Kinase, Angiopoietin1 Receptor, p140 Tek, Tyrosine Protein Kinase Receptor) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Tie2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml detected Tie2 in immersion fixed paraffin embedded sections of mouse embryonic brain and human placenta. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TEK tek for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tie2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
