Uniprot Description

TIAM1: modulates the activity of RHO-like proteins and connects extracellular signals to cytoskeletal activities. Acts as a GDP- dissociation stimulator protein that stimulates the GDP-GTP exchange activity of RHO-like GTPases and activates them. Activates RAC1, CDC42, and to a lesser extent RHOA. Regulates migration, cell-matrix and cell-cell adhesion by modulating the actin cytoskeleton through the GTPase, Rac1. Binding to Rac1 and the Arp2/3 complex may drive actin polymerization at specific sites, thus inducing dynamic morphological changes.

Protein type: GEFs; GEFs, Rac/Rho; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Oncoprotein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 21q22.11

Cellular Component: cytosol; extrinsic to internal side of plasma membrane; intercellular junction; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; kinase binding; protein binding; Rac guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity; Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity

Biological Process: cell migration; cell-matrix adhesion; ephrin receptor signaling pathway; positive regulation of apoptosis; positive regulation of cell migration; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of protein binding; Rac protein signal transduction; regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction

Product Notes

The TIAM1 tiam1 (Catalog #AAA6355496) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TIAM1, CT (TIAM1, T-lymphoma invasion and metastasis-inducing protein 1) (Azide free) (HRP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TIAM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TIAM1 tiam1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TIAM1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
