Related Product Information for anti-TPOR antibody
In 1990 an oncogene, v-mpl, was identified from the murine myeloproliferative leukemia virus that was capable of immortalizing bone marrow hematopoietic cells from different lineages. In 1992 the human homologue, named, c-mpl, was cloned. Sequence data revealed that c-mpl encoded a protein that was homologous with members of the hematopoietic receptor superfamily. Presence of anti-sense oligodeoxynucleotides of c-mpl inhibited megakaryocyte colony formation. The ligand for c-mpl, thrombopoietin, was cloned in 1994. Thrombopoietin was shown to be the major regulator of megakaryocytopoiesis and platelet formation. The protein encoded by the c-mpl gene, CD110, is a 635aa transmembrane domain, with two extracellular cytokine receptor domains and two intracellular cytokine receptor box motifs. TPO-R deficient mice were severely thrombocytopenic, emphasizing the important role of CD110 and thrombopoietin in megakaryocyte and platelet formation. Upon binding of thrombopoietin CD110 is dimerized and the JAK family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases, as well as the STAT family, the MAPK family, the adaptor protein Shc and the receptors themselves become tyrosine phosphorylated.

Product Notes

The TPOR (Catalog #AAA6502537) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Thrombopoietin Receptor (TPO-R, Myeloproliferative Leukemia Protein, Proto-oncogene c-Mpl, CD110, TPOR) (PE) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Thrombopoietin Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). For maximum recovery of product, 11c7entrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TPOR for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Thrombopoietin Receptor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
